Have YOU Had Your Fill?

Another Spoke in the Wheel, By Black Label Society.
Lord, I Question Whether I've had my fill
Lord, I Question whether I can take much more
you may laugh as I lay here bleeding
no more afters or befores

Some day you'll know just how I feel
you left me there twice before
Some day you'll know just how it feels
shattered, cast aside, stripped of your pride
like you were never nothing special
made you feel like another spoke in the wheel

so you say im just another dollar
so you say I'm just another day yeah
once my blood was strong but now its jaded and its thin
unlike you I can still tell right from wrong
some day you'll know just how it feels
while you left me there twice before
some day you'll know just how it feels
shattered, cast aside, stripped of your pride
like you were never nothing special
made you feel like another spoke in the wheel

some day you'll know just how it feels
while you left me there twice before
some day you'll know just how it feels
shattered, cast aside, stripped of your pride
like you were never nothing special
made you feel like another spoke in the wheel

I'm Having A Tired Day

photo courtesy of google images (sunrise over camelback mountain)

My alarm went off repeatedly this morning. Wade even had to wake me up to turn it off. I never do that. I'm the lightest sleeper you'll ever meet.

I got to spend the day with my little princess Lucy yesterday (well, not the whole day - but the majority of it). I am so grateful. I also admire W. for being a stay at home dad. She's a fire-cracker and is always on the go. Thank God for The Wiggles!

I also attempted to do the splits last night - to see if I could still do them and guess what. I can! But damn, I am S-O-R-E today.

I hope you all are having a great start to your New Year. I know I am.

Happy Wednesday!

This Weekend

I had an eye-opening weekend, this weekend. I realized that I do have a child who is a toddler, a boyfriend with whom I have been with for 7 years that I am very dearly fond of, my health that I need to keep a better tab on, amazing yet crazy "in-laws" that I can't control nor can I change - and that I am OK with that.

1) This weekend my daughter, Lucy, made me realize that she is growing up at an alarming rate. Before this weekend, I was pretty sure I had the "perfect daughter"...but I now realize, she isn't perfect and she is growing up very fast into a toddler. You know, the toddlers you here about that cry and scream for no reason at all? Ya, that was my Lucy this weekend. I felt so helpless! It was probably the worst feeling I've ever been consumed with. In this new year I will vow to let her throw her tantrums when it (if it happens) happens and take a breath. Stand up. And think and pray to myself that this too shall be over as fast as it happened.

2) Wade and I have been together for 7 years....8 years in May of next year. We've had our fair share of ups and downs, just like any relationship - but NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING can compare to what a child does to your relationship. The whole experience puts a big "swoosh" to your relationship. That swoosh I'm talking about is kind of like a wind gust that wipes everything you two once had to "nothing matters anymore except your child". That's not right and that's not fair. I've learned in the past week or so that I need to spent as much time on Wade as I do with Lucy and give him the same affection as I do Lucy (only in an adult way, of course...wink wink). I think that when (see above) a child has an episode as we did above on Saturday - it puts an extreme strain on your relationship and you end up being even more miserable than you were when your daughter or son is throwing a fit on the ground - crying and won't stop. In this next year, I vow to make a day/night every month that just consists of us - being together - just the two of us, the way it used to be...if only for a couple hours, I'm OK with that. Its important.

3) Oh boy have I slacked on my body image!!! I can recall the days where I was a size 2-4 and so in shape!! (Actually I can't recall them, I think I just blocked that part of my life out of my head b/c frankly it's just too depressing to think about)
The window is about to go down on what I call the - post baby slackness. Its been over a year since I had Lucy and it's officially time to get my body back to at least a respectable image where I don't feel so insecure to show my body to my best friend and lover, Wade. (HA!)
With recent light of (sigh) Britney Murphy's death at Age 32. I've decided I do not want to end up dead at 32. I have a daughter to think about!! I want to be the best mommy I can be until I grow old!! This is ridiculous that I've let my body go THIS far. It's absolutely disgusting!!
So in the new year, I vow to get back to at least a size 6. I can do that!! Piece of cake (minus the cake, of course)!

4) I have an amazing bunch of in laws. They are chaotic, messy, absurdly vulgar - yet - so unbelievably loving, caring - would do anything for anyone, selflessness and would put anything above and beyond their needs for you. I can not explain you to them unless you meet them. They are one of a kind and I love each and everyone of them for excepting me into their family every day. I vow to become more patient with each and everyone of them this year. To keep an open mind about their problems, their flaws, their uniqueness. I'm truly blessed to have all of them as my "Arizona family".

It was a tough weekend but I'm glad it happened. I needed it to happen. I'm a better person today because of this weekend. It was hell, but it was all worth it.

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to you and your crazy families! Always remember just how truly blessed we all are!!

Friday Fives

Five things on my wish list for Christmas (I know, boring, but I still can't think of anything to write about!)

1) Michael Kors - Kors perfume. It's my favorite smell.
Photobucket

2) A Wii. One, for the Wii Fit - and Two, for the bowling. We are addicted.
Photobucket

3) Dooney Red & Black Large Anniversary Sac Bag. I can not find this ANYWHERE. It's big, which is perfect for me (being a mother and all) and the red is my favorite part of this bag.
Photobucket

4) A facial at Lifetime Life Spa. Only because they use Aveda product and my skin goes on the fritz if I use anymore than that.
Photobucket

5) This one is really really unrealistic, but I have to put it on my wish list. A savings with at LEAST $10,000 in it.
Photobucket

And of course a happy, healthy family. That really is the only thing that I really truly want.

What is on your wish list for Christmas??

Friday Fives

My TOP 5 favorites smells/scents:

1) This is the whole reasoning behind this topic of today's fives...The smell came to me while driving home from work yesterday and brings be back to my childhood. The smell of sculpting clay. My best friend growing up, Addie - her dad is an artist. My favorite past time is playing upstairs in her dad's studio and smelling that bitter smell of sculpting clay. I can't describe it, I just love it. And for some reason, I smelled it on my way home and memories started to flood back like it was yesterday - Listening to Paul Simon and playing with Addie upstairs at 5516 Queen Ave. I miss those days.

2) Anything and everything BABY. Not just any baby, MY baby. I think any mom can agree with me that their baby smells amazing. Their hair, their breath, their toes, their....yes, diapers (ew!), the way they smell right out of the bath and even their spit up. YUM! I crave that smell more than anyone can ever imagine.

3) My mom. She has been wearing Burberry perfume for years and I swear I go to Macy's or where ever they sell the Original Burberry, just to smell my mom. Even when she's not wearing her perfume, she always smells good. My favorite thing to do when I go home is lay in her bed. It smells of Burberry, clean sheets and breath. HA! It may sound gross to you, but it smells like my mommy and I love it.

4) Garlic and Onions cooking. You know darn well something yummy is being cooked up by someone who knows exactly what they are doing. The combination is intoxicating.

5) Christmas. Not sure if Christmas has a particular smell, but when I think of Christmas, I think of candles burning, fires going, monkey bread baking and Mrs Clark's Eggs. Its the most amazing smell. It smells like family. It smells like comfort. It smells safe.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a safe and FUN weekend!!

October is Here!!!

And I woke up to 65 degrees in Scottsdale, AZ this morning. Ahhhhhhhhhh! What a sigh of relief!
Most people throughout the country are dreading this weather but us in the southwest who have been dealing with 110+ weather for the past 4-5 months are more than ready for this fall.

I opened all the windows this morning to let in the crisp (well, crisp to me) cool air. Lucy and I starred out the window listening to the birds. I can not wait to share these mornings with her for the rest of her life. I am one lucky mommy.

Happy October everyone! Enjoy that cool air and mother nature. It's a beautiful thing!

Make it a great day!

I really want to make one of these and put it in some random place around town. It would definitely put a huge smile on my face if I saw it!

Lets Remember

Photobucket

Today, my heart is heavy. I sat this morning with my little baby girl and watched the President of the United States of America give his speech at the Pentagon. As I was holding Lucy and remembering where I was at that moment 8 years (wow! 8 years ago!!) ago today - I wanted to hold her all day. This day brings new meaning to me now that I have a child to protect.

I also was remembering September 12Th, 2001 and how overwhelmingly amazing it felt to have our nation come together as one. Politics set aside - even if it was for just one day. It felt amazing and makes my heart happy. I wish everyday could be like that day.

Today, I hope that you hold your loved ones. Tell them you love them and that you will do anything in your power to protect them. I also hope that you, as a citizen of this great nation, can find time to set aside your viewpoints on Politics and remember what we stand for as a Country.

God Bless you all!

Scent.Net

I am absolutely addicted to perfumes. Today I'm wearing Viva La Juicy and yesterday I was wearing Burberry for Women. Something about changing up my scent day to day, keeps my life exciting and fresh - and also creates memories. (You know that saying that a certain song reminds you of a certain day or year in your life and when hearing that certain song, floods of memories come back at you at that instant?) I feel the same way about perfumes.

Every week I browse online perfume at Scent.Net to find the latest perfume selections for that particular season. They also have GREAT gift sets available for the holiday season coming up!

I'm Logging Off For The Weekend

My family (Wade & I) tend to spend too much time with electronics. Computer, Xbox, TV, blah blah blah. I sometimes spend the first hour (or on a bad day, two hours) of work updated the blog, what I like to call " blog stalking ", checking emails, Instant Messaging and so on.... So this weekend (minus alittle Dexter, Lost and any other movies at night) I'm not logging onto my computer, texting or spending time loafed in front of the boob tube watching the food network while watching Miss Lucy play. Its kind of starting to feel like a waste of time - actually, I know its a waste of time. There's so much more to do!!

Photobucket

But don't worry, I'll be back on Monday - or maybe even later today, who knows! Friday's tend to be boring around here.

Happy Friday! God Bless all of you!

Work Smerk

Today I'm daydreaming of being here:

Photobucket

Off the coast of Greece, swimming in the ocean, enjoying my perfect little family.
But instead, I'm here...in a stark, cold, poorly lit office building that some what resembles this:

Photobucket

Since when did I decide I wanted to be working in a boring office building that smells like new cubicles, coffee and bad breath? Oy. I'm thinking I need a change of something...anything.
I, some days, feel like I'm part of the movie 'Ground Hogs Day' - doing the same thing, over and over and over......you get my point. I don't know how much longer I can do this without being checked into an insane asylum.

Happy Wednesday aka Hump Day. Enjoy whatever, where ever you are and be grateful we all have jobs.

Monday Monday

I meant to post this post earlier this morning, but my brain has been in a fog.

We had an excellent time up in Payson this weekend if you take out the part where our dear daughter, Lucy, didn't want to sleep from 12:00 a.m. til about 2 a.m. (In parent years, thats a LONG time)
After a night of drinking, playing scrabble and a delish dinner of smoked brisket - we were tired. Being woke up by a screaming crying baby at midnight, less 2 hours after I fell sleep, was not my idea of a good time.

Boy have times changed.

After many foul words and looks being exchanged between me and my other half (eeek, I know) about who's going to get up with Lucy and who gets to catch up on sleep, I want to dedicate this photo/blog to Wader.

I wish we could be here, even just for one night, cuddled up, cool 75 degree weather - just the two of us.

Even though times are tough (even after 9 months) just keep in mind how far we have come and how much we both admire one another. No one ever said this whole parenting thing was going to be easy - we just have to stick together.
I love you,

Me

Foggy

Its been a week since I've written or posted anything - but I have a logical excuse. Lucy's Baptism.
Picture this: Family in town (i.e. Older sister, younger sister, Mom and a surprise for me...my niece, Sophie - who is 3) A 958 square foot apartment, Wade, Lucy, Me and the family all snuggled into one small teeny tiny apartment - in Arizona - in the summer.
Yep, that's why I haven't written in over a week.
It was a GREAT time if you take out the fact that every single one of my out of town visitors got a special gift from us called the flu. (eeek!)
This is was no ordinary flu....no aches, no pains, no fever. Just the uncomfortable and annoying amounts throwing up, stomach pains and well, need I say it? #2. - AND LOTS OF IT.
This virus, good riddens, only lasted for 12 hours. By Monday, everyone was feeling better - we indulged in some In and Out burger (a tradition for anyone who comes to see me) - and then Monday at 2 p.m. they had to leave.
Thankfully, no one was sick for the actual Baptism - and my wonderful Mom kept reminding all of us, that that is why they came down in the first place - The Baptism.

The Baptism was a beautiful ceremony. Private, with all our friends and family. The ceremony only lasted a good 45 minutes. Lucy was a doll. Not a peep from her (as always) - I might quite possibly have the most chill, relaxed, easy-going baby in the whole world. She was just precious and I am so proud to call her my daughter.

Here's a couple pictures from the weekend, enjoy and God Bless my little angel, Lucy Patricia!

Beautiful Things

One of the most amazing feelings in the whole entire world is waking up next to a smiling baby.
My little Lucy decided she didnt' want to sleep early (4 a.m.) this morning, so I grabbed her, gave her a bottle, put her in between Wade and I and fell asleep once my head hit the pillow (as did she).
6:15 a.m. rolls around (way past the time I usually get up) and I have this beautiful angel sitting up next to me, head rested on my belly.

I just absolutely love mornings like this. It makes for a great day, even though I woke up 45 minutes late.

Thank you Miss Lucy Pat.

A Whole Slew of Information

I'll admit, I've been a bad blogger lately - so here's what I've been up to in the past weeks..

First off I want to start off my saying Happy Mothers Day to all the mom's, Step Mom's, Mom's to be out there!!

Last weekend was a dear friend, Janelle's 30th Birthday and boy did we celebrate! She got a room at the Hilton Scottsdale at we had a blast! Me being pregnant, I wasn't able to enjoy the delicious drinks that were being made (ie, sex on the beach, Vodka and soda's and Margarita's) But I did endulge in a fantastic virgin Strawberry Daquiri! YUM!! I downed that sucker in 2.2 seconds! ;) Nothing beats, the Sun, good friends, lots of laughs and celebrating a day of birth! Happy 30th Janelle! And I need to add that this pregnant lady lasted from 9 am to almost midnight that night - dancing the night away! We were all impressed, however I was extremely worn out the next day and the following week! Phew!

Next, I'm not sure if I mentioned that we had our 2nd doctors appointment on the 30th - which I was expecting an Ultra Sound, but since we knew how far along I was and every test came back "absolutely perfect" - the Ultrasound wasn't needed - I was alittle bummed out, but then we got to hear the heartbeat and that made it all the better! We have a healthy heartbeat of 150 beats per minute, which the N.A. said was a "strong heartbeat"! My heart melted at the sound of that little heart beat!

We get to find out the sex AND FINALLY get to see the little pooper in June! The suspense is already killing me and I'm still thinking its a boy ;)

Lastly - I celebrated my first unofficial Mother's Day yesterday, which was amazing, yet alittle sad. First off, I was amazed b/c of all the calls, texts, emails that I received wishing me a Happy Mothers Day, when really I'm not a mother yet - and then also receiving an unexpected gift from our really good friend Darrell. I was truly thankful for everyone's support and love. Secondly, I was alittle sad b/c I couldn't be with my Mom, my best friend, to celebrate her. Its always so hard to be away from family on Holidays like this. But I know she knows that I was there in spirit and maybe, just maybe I'll get to be with her next year on Mothers Day to celebrate us both being mothers.

Photobucket

For all you Mothers out there, I appreciate every single one of you and admire what you do. For all the Mothers I know, I can only hope one day I'll be as good as a Mother you all are to your children, to mine.

God Bless you all.

Great Way To End My Week

Its Friday, finally! However, my week doesn't end here, tomorrow I go to "Traffic Survival School", on a Saturday. How long, you ask? 3 hrs? No. 5 hrs? No. Yes folks, 8 whole long hours on my Saturday off. Lovely eh?

On a side note, I made a big mistake tonight, I won't go into specifics, but just know that I've hurt someone's feelings.

Let me give you an idea of what my week consisted of: Monday, Wednesday, Friday--I work not one, but two jobs--So roughly 12 hours a day on Mon, Wed, & Fri's. I really have no problem working, however--It makes me crabby. (Which runs in the family) Today when I was waiting for my day to be over (had to stay late because someone was in the office); I was getting REALLY frustrated with my life. How I got to this point as to where I have to work two jobs, two jobs that I hate--while other people are out having a good time, partying it up--Julie's stuck working. Now, I know what you're thinking..."I brought this upon myself", "its your debt", "everyone else has to work 2nd jobs to make ends meet", "its only 12 hours"-and so on...Well, so what! I'm bitter! I can't stand to work two jobs, no one should have to!

So at any rate, I took my bad mood out on someone who I love dearly. Its something that us "Harmsen-Pivecs" do. We are all selfish. And if my sisters are reading this, they will know that I'm right (like always). Its something that I've been wanting to work on for some time now. I just get really frustrated when things don't go my way, and for that I want to apologize to you.

That being said, I have these lyrics explain my feelings (as cheesy as it may sound) :)

I was dreaming of the past and my heart was beating fast I began to lose control I began to lose control I didnt mean to hurt you I'm sorry that I made you cry I didnt want to hurt you I'm just a jealous guy.I was feeling insecure You might not love me anymore I was shivering inside I was shivering inside I didnt mean to hurt you I'm sorry that I made you cry I didnt want to hurt you I'm just a jealous guy(whistle) I was trying to catch your eye Thought the you was trying to hide I was swallowing my painI was swallowing my painI didnt mean to hurt youI'm sorry that I made you cry I didnt want to hurt youI'm just a jealous guywatchout im justa jealous guylookout babe im just a jealous guy

Hope everyone has a swell weekend!

Saturday

Hey everyone! I think I have become totally addicted to blogging...well not really, but kinda. I've told endless people about my page and I'm excited for you guys to read it!

Nothing really going on today, slept in til a mere 9 am. (thats late for this chick), had an interview with a Broker--which in my opinion was REALLY a strange interview. Not that I really needed to "nail" this interview, but I just kinda went to see what they had to offer me. (which wasn't a whole lot). Also went to Discount Tires to get a tire patched up--yes, I ended my shitty week with a flat tire last night, only to find out the tire had a nail AND a staple in it, so they couldn't revive the tire by "patch work". Boo. Another $120 down the drain. Wandered over to Bashas (for all you Minnesotans, thats a grocery store kinda comparable to hmm...Lunds?) grabbed some water, beer, cheap cheap champagne (yea, thanks Amy, you turned me onto the delicious champs) cat/kitten food--b/c we have HUNGRY cats and even more hungry Kittens (yes, we have four kittens for free if anyone wants one! They are super cute!) and four 59 cent candles to put in my candle holders (yes, def not needed, but my house smells and they were only 59 cents--how could I pass that up?) That pretty much sums up my day thus far.

We're having the Coplens' over tonight--BYO--everything. (BYO--bring your own) This is the best part of having people over when, 1) you dont have any money 2) you're hungry. You designate everyone to bring something and tada! No going hungry for the rest of the weekend! :P Just kidding Coplens...Its always nice to have y'all over. Another thing I'm about to explain.....The Coplens.

Oh where to begin? The Coplens (slash Logues) are my boyfriend of five lovely years, family. They are probably the most hilarious group of individuals you will ever meet. There's Audrey--she's the oldest, and she has the laugh that you will always remember--the plus side of her, is that she will laugh at ANYTHING. Thats why I love her. (plus she does give a good hair cut!) Then there's Mary, Mary is the girl version of Wade. I've gotten to know Mary alittle better this past year and man is that girl FUNNY! She'll pull something out of her ass (not literally) out of no where and make a dark room fill up. I'm looking forward to getting to know her better. Then there's Randy Jr. --He has a wife named Heidi who has been a sort of adopted sister down here in AZ since I started dating Wade. Randy and Heidi are probably the closest thing to a perfect match. Randy stands 6' feet something (tall--very tall) and is like a huge teddy bear. He's probably one of the nicest Coplens' there is. (Not saying that the rest of y'all aren't nice) I just think he is the most kind-hearted man I've ever met--and wouldn't hurt a fly--kinda funny how he's in the Army. :) Then there's Clarice--This girl is the most original of the 6. She reminds me of MY younger sister, Jenna. Clarice and I didn't get off on the right foot to begin with, actually I think she may have hated me. But all that has changed, she's grown up to be a beautiful person and an even more beautiful Mother. She has a daugher, Vivianne, that I consider to be my own niece. Clarice is expecting another baby in October and we are all so excited to meet him! She is always such a joy to have around--and her fiance Cliff aint' so bad either! ;) Oh boy, that brings us to Will. If any of you have ever met Will--need I explain more? The name itself explains it all. Whats that saying? Where there's a Will, there's a way? hahaha....Thats so true. He's the youngest of the 6 and he is a crack up! I think that one day he will be on stage--whether dancing ballet or as a comedian, he will make a living out of entertaining people. He's just that good.

I have truly been blessed with such a great family to have in my life and I thank god everyday for each and everyone of them. They are probably the closest I will come to my family down here in Arizona.

So! This is what I have to look forward to for tonight, and I'm excited!!

Cheers!
