A Recommendation For New MaMa's

I just heard a blurp on the radio about new babies & strollers and it was SO right on I had to post something about it.

I was so concerned when I first started to shop for Lucy while I was pregnant that I HAD TO HAVE a huge, chunky, travel system stroller. (You know, the one that the infant carseat fits into?)

Hunk of Junk. Waste of Money. It's in the trash now.

My first mistake: I didn't do my research.

My second mistake: I bought a 'Baby Trend' stroller (hunk-o-junk)

My third mistake: I didn't keep the jogging stroller my in-laws got me (FAIL)

What I'm recommending to the new mommies - soon to be new mommies -  is...don't waste your money on that beautiful carseat-stroller combo that you've been eyeing in 'babies r us'

Get a practical, cheap, umbrella stroller.

Recipe Binder

One of things I want to do for my sister, as she becomes a wife, is a recipe binder.

I found this adorable creation at 'A Bowl Full Of Lemons' that is giving me inspiration to make this happen as one of her gifts.

Since my sister, Ellie, is getting married - my brain is a funnel of wedding ideas.

Some of these I share with her, some I don't because I don't want to be that "idea girl / sister" and be annoying.

Wedding Addiction / Ellie's Wedding

It's been months since my future Bro in Law, Mike asked my oldest sister, Ellie to marry him.

Obviously, she said yes...

Last weekend - she said 'YES to the DRESS!'

Unfortunately I was unable to be there for that but I've been doing alot of wedding window shopping - mainly just for fun because Mikey and Ellie's wedding is set to be in Vegas *totally them*. Mike and Ellie are a simple couple with simple tastes. 

I ran across this beauty while window shopping and decided it was SO my sister...elegant and simple (and beautiful):

Things you should know about me if we're gonna be BFF's (LINK UP)

I had so much fun reading other people's lists I thought to self, "Self, lets do it!"

Cheesy, I know.

Such a follower I am.

So....without further a do; My list - if you're so lucky to be my BFF:

1) I'm not married, however, have been with the same man for 8 yrs (and counting), we have a 2 yr old together (named Lucy) and we are happy.

2) I'm catholic - so the topic above is totally against my beliefs. Oh well. I think God loves me anyway.

3) I'm from Minnesota. 21 years in Minnesota landed me with an accent that has YET to go away - I've been in Arizona for 9+ yrs.

4) I love my accent.

5) I generally don't like people. No, I love people. I'm very social however, I really hate doing "stuff". Every once in a while - a good plan with some good people is ALWAYS a good time...and I can talk and talk and talk and talk (extrovert here) - but something about staying in the comfort of my own home, comfy clothes, my daughter, my Wader - makes me MUCH more happy than entertaining. So sue me.

6) I'm a repulican, pro-lifer. Need I say more?

7) I have a cat and I hate - no DESPISE cats. I once wanted to hire the cat-serial-killer that was on the news in Phoenix here a couple months ago. 

8) I met my best friend, Danielle, on myspace. - She stalked me - for the record. She's awesome.

9) I listen to talk radio all day, every day.

10) I'm a middle child - to two wonderfully beautiful amazing sisters.
