This Picture Speaks Volumes To Me

One of the first things I do when I get into work in the morning is go directly to foxnews.com - The headline picture this morning made me cry. I am not an Obama supporter, but he is our President, so I do have compassion. For some reason, this picture spoke to me. I can't imagine what was going through the service men's minds that are carrying these caskets and also, what President Obama was thinking at that moment.
It kills me and I am honored these soldiers died for me, my family and everyone else. I'm so proud - and you should be too.
My prayers go out to those 18 soldiers families.

Lawyer Joke

Lawyer Joke
10 Husbands, Still a Virgin
A lawyer married a woman who had previously divorced ten husbands.

On their wedding night, she told her new husband, "Please be gentle, I'm still a virgin."

"What?" said the puzzled groom.

"How can that be if you've been married ten times?"

"Well, Husband #1 was a sales representative: he kept telling me how great it was going to be.

Husband #2 was in software services: he was never really sure how it was supposed to function, but he said he'd look into it and get back to me.

Husband #3 was from field services: he said everything checked out diagnostically but he just couldn't get the system up.

Husband #4 was in telemarketing: even though he knew he had the order, he didn't know when he would be able to deliver.

Husband #5 was an engineer: he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.

Husband #6 was from finance and administration: he thought he knew how, but he wasn't sure whether it was his job or not.

Husband #7 was in marketing: although he had a nice product, he was never sure how to position it.

Husband #8 was a psychologist: all he ever did was talk about it.

Husband #9 was a gynecologist: all he did was look at it.

Husband #10 was a stamp collector: all he ever did was... God! I miss him! But now that I've married you, I'm really excited!"

"Good," said the new husband, "but, why?"

"You're a lawyer. This time I know I'm gonna get screwed!"

Are You A Canadian Looking To Buy US Real Estate?

Are you a Canadian resident looking to buy Real Estate in the U.S.? NOW IS THE TIME!
Phoenix, Arizona has always been one of the strongest markets in North America and has attracted 'snowbirds' and investors alike. There has never been a better time for Canadians to buy Arizona real estate.

Why Arizona? Many Canadian residents are drawn to Arizona because they are impressed with the minimal property taxes. While some other states such as California and Florida penalize investors and/or second home buyers by adding additional property taxes. Arizona does not. Arizona Property taxes run about 1.2% of the assessed value of a home (i.e. a $150,000 assessed home is around $150 per month)

Financing for Canadian citizens is extremely easy!!! Documentation needed for a U.S. mortgage approval is as follows:

Copy of Passport
Verification of funds needed to close
No Credit Report needed
No income verification requirement
(*subject to additional information*)

Hurry and take advantage of this great market!!!

Friday Fives

Five things on my wish list for Christmas (I know, boring, but I still can't think of anything to write about!)

1) Michael Kors - Kors perfume. It's my favorite smell.
Photobucket

2) A Wii. One, for the Wii Fit - and Two, for the bowling. We are addicted.
Photobucket

3) Dooney Red & Black Large Anniversary Sac Bag. I can not find this ANYWHERE. It's big, which is perfect for me (being a mother and all) and the red is my favorite part of this bag.
Photobucket

4) A facial at Lifetime Life Spa. Only because they use Aveda product and my skin goes on the fritz if I use anymore than that.
Photobucket

5) This one is really really unrealistic, but I have to put it on my wish list. A savings with at LEAST $10,000 in it.
Photobucket

And of course a happy, healthy family. That really is the only thing that I really truly want.

What is on your wish list for Christmas??

A Part of Me Wishes.....

I was in Minnesota for the first snow fall of the season. My aunt Kelly took this picture this morning (I'm guessing it's by her house in St. Louis Park) and it is absolutely beautiful!

My dear Wade just emailed me and asked "I can't tell if you're getting the itch to move back there or not". I am however, come January - I will regret it to the max.

So for now, I will enjoy my 85 degree weather that we're expected to have today and live vicariously through my family.

Happy Monday you Minnesotans!

A Different Kind of 'Friday Fives'

I have been a bit busy this week and really haven't had time to think about a topic for today's Friday Fives..so I thought I'd take a different approach... 5 questions..for me. (Not that you care to know, but you may - who knows!) If you have any suggestions for next week's Friday Fives - let me know, I could use the help! My brain is whacky these days!!

1. What is your morning routine?

5:45 a.m. - first sound of my alarm on my cell phone. snooze.

6:00 a.m. - second sound of my alarm - snooze, sit and think what the benefits would be to get up right now and while I'm "thinking" I doze off again (usually)

6:15 a.m. - third sound. UP! Usually because I have a little stinker making cute noises in the baby monitor on my night stand. Best alarm ever.

Hop in shower, let Lucy pay for a bit in her crib if she's not whining or crying. Wash, lotion, brush teeth and hair - Go grab Lucy.

She loves to hang out with me while I get ready. Dry hair, say "no" to Lucy a couple times for banging on the toilet. Clean up Bathroom (or Wade will kill me), grab Lucy and bring her into the bedroom - Attempt to wake up Wader....for the first time. Get dressed - attempt to wake up Wade again. Put Lucy on the bed to WAKE UP WADE :) and I'm out the door.

2. What is your nightly routine?

Lucy and I walk for about 45 minutes to an hour at about 5:45 p.m. - ish. Once we get back, it's bath time for Lu at about 6:45ish. - and 7 p.m. is bed time. After that - We usually have a quiet dinner together, watch some of our fav shows, then it's bed time for me ...about 9ish. If I don't have 8 hours of sleep - I'm no good to the world (or at least the world of insurance and the people I interact with). I usually lay in bed for a good hour before I turn of the TV and actually go to sleep. This is my favorite time of the day. I love to unwind.

3. Do you like to listen to the radio when you sleep or have it quiet?

Quiet. I need silence. My parents always listened to talk radio when they were sleeping - not me, I need complete silence.

4. What do you like to sleep in?

I used to!! Sunday is my day to sleep in now. Wade gets Saturdays, I get Sundays. Amen for Sundays.

5. What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning?

Lucy!

Have an excellent weekend everyone! See you Monday!

What's New?

What's new with everyone? I haven't had much of a topic to write about lately - and you're probably wondering why The Wiggles
have appeared on my blog. It's on almost 24-7 in our household, that's why. It was the first thing that came to mind when trying to figure out what to blog about. Yep. The Wiggles.
My wee little one, is absolutely infatuated with these guys! She will sit in what we call her recliner (her Dora comfy chair) along with her blankie and a good book and zone out.
So what is it about the wiggles? Wade & I were trying to figure this one out - he said he knows why they are such a big hit, but I can't figure it out!
Is it the constant singing? Constant dancing? Their voices? Do they put some kind of messaging behind their music to make you get sucked in (yes, I have also been sucked in and pretty much know every word of every song - sad, very sad!). Hmmm....
A good friend of mine, will not let her child get sucked into 'The Wiggles' due to the fact that they tour around the country and she doesn't want her child costing her an arm and a leg for a ticket to their show. I think I may have to agree with her. (Their tickets are going for $50+, yes, I checked) She went on to say, she never got into the New Kids on The Block, because her parents didn't let her. She grew up on the good ol' Eagles and Van Morrison. (Props to her parents for that!)
I just text my dear Wade
and asked why he wasn't online so I could chat with him - But he responded "Wiggles" (for some reason we can't have the Internet and the xbox going at the same time) and for an instant, I wished I was at home, watching 'The Wiggles'
Oh Boy.

Friday Fives

My TOP 5 favorites smells/scents:

1) This is the whole reasoning behind this topic of today's fives...The smell came to me while driving home from work yesterday and brings be back to my childhood. The smell of sculpting clay. My best friend growing up, Addie - her dad is an artist. My favorite past time is playing upstairs in her dad's studio and smelling that bitter smell of sculpting clay. I can't describe it, I just love it. And for some reason, I smelled it on my way home and memories started to flood back like it was yesterday - Listening to Paul Simon and playing with Addie upstairs at 5516 Queen Ave. I miss those days.

2) Anything and everything BABY. Not just any baby, MY baby. I think any mom can agree with me that their baby smells amazing. Their hair, their breath, their toes, their....yes, diapers (ew!), the way they smell right out of the bath and even their spit up. YUM! I crave that smell more than anyone can ever imagine.

3) My mom. She has been wearing Burberry perfume for years and I swear I go to Macy's or where ever they sell the Original Burberry, just to smell my mom. Even when she's not wearing her perfume, she always smells good. My favorite thing to do when I go home is lay in her bed. It smells of Burberry, clean sheets and breath. HA! It may sound gross to you, but it smells like my mommy and I love it.

4) Garlic and Onions cooking. You know darn well something yummy is being cooked up by someone who knows exactly what they are doing. The combination is intoxicating.

5) Christmas. Not sure if Christmas has a particular smell, but when I think of Christmas, I think of candles burning, fires going, monkey bread baking and Mrs Clark's Eggs. Its the most amazing smell. It smells like family. It smells like comfort. It smells safe.

Happy Friday everyone! Have a safe and FUN weekend!!

October is Here!!!

And I woke up to 65 degrees in Scottsdale, AZ this morning. Ahhhhhhhhhh! What a sigh of relief!
Most people throughout the country are dreading this weather but us in the southwest who have been dealing with 110+ weather for the past 4-5 months are more than ready for this fall.

I opened all the windows this morning to let in the crisp (well, crisp to me) cool air. Lucy and I starred out the window listening to the birds. I can not wait to share these mornings with her for the rest of her life. I am one lucky mommy.

Happy October everyone! Enjoy that cool air and mother nature. It's a beautiful thing!

Make it a great day!
